The president of the American Motorcycle Association once said “99% of the motorcycling public are law abiding citizens” insinuating that the other 1% are outlaws. We as a company don’t affiliate with any motorcycle clubs, but we do encapsulate the outlaw mentality. Nonconformity and self expression is the base of DarkTones. And the unwavering desire for freedom, individualism, and simply not giving a fuck will ever change.

America has a deep and vast history of motorcycle culture. But there is still a lot left unsaid. As an African American Harley Davidson rider, I had to search for our history. The mainstream only shows you one side of motorcycle culture, however that culture spreads far past just one ethnicity. There’s a deep-rooted history of Harley Davidson and Black Americans that is often overlooked, but we’re here to bring it to light, and show that it ain’t nothing to be played with.
